Poem Description:
"Too Rough For Heaven" is a poem written as a letter to God asking for the return of the person who passed away because he is not ready for heaven yet. The poem lists some of the reasons as: He doesn't dress well enough for heaven, he sometimes swears, and his habits aren't polished enough for heaven yet.
The poem then transitions to a more serious tone acknowledging that he was admired for being honest, for being genuine, and for being a special part of the lives of those he cared for. It speaks of the admiration that those who are mourning feel for him.
The poem is both lighthearted and somber. It is a good match to memorialize someone who lived a good life, who knew how to have fun, and who never took himself too seriously.
This poem often is an excellent tribute for a construction worker, biker, hunter, someone who loved rock music or played in a band, a factory worker, welder, plumber, machinist, mechanic, or anyone who worked hard and lived life to the fullest.
